A reminder: when picking lilies of the valley keep in mind that the whole plant is poisonous
The old ladies at the market outskirts have already been selling lilies of the valley (Convallaria majalis) for a long time, but now even in the woods of north Estonia the lilies of the valley have unfurled their leaves - just like unwrapping a bath towel from ones body - and its flowering period has begun. The sweet spring scent again floats under the trees, but it is useful to consider that the scent of the lily of the valley is first of all meant for insects. By this the flower is found, and gets pollinated.
