Three-spined stickleback.
Zoologist Tiit Hunt tells us that the three-spined stickleback (Gasterosteus aculeatus) is really beautiful now: sky-blue eyes, bellies brightly orange-coloured - their mating period is on. The males are particularly splendid. How to see them? The stickleback comes to spawn near the shore. Standing in calm water it is possible to catch a fish in a butterfly net for a few moments, and then let it back into the water again.
