Field clover.
All the clover species with purplish-red heads are flowering now. The red, zigzag and field clovers (Trifolium pratense) can be mistaken for each other. But some characteristics help to differentiate between them. The zigzag clover (Trifolium medium) has markedly longer leaves than the others. Field clover differs from cultivated red clover by its hairy stems. The cultivated red clover has hollow stems, and generally only grows in cultivated fields.
