Cowberry: two leaf colours

Cowberry (lingonberry).
It is interesting to see the cowberry (Vaccinium vitis-idaea) plants now: the lower, overwintered leaves are dark green, but the fresh growth is much paler, and grows on that part of the stem that has grown out from the older, lignified part. The berry-picking time is still far away, and leaves for herbal use are also picked in late autumn.
