Common clubrush. Jõksi lake.
The rushes are easy to recognize in seabays and inland waters: their strong, smooth stems have no leaves and the flower petals are decoratively reddish-brown and also smooth. The common clubrush (Schoenoplectus lacustris) grows in shallow inland waters, and the grey clubrush (Schoenoplectus tabernaemontanii) in brackish waters. They are very similar to look at.
They may grow up to two meters tall. It depends on the water depth how much of the rushes will show. For comparison: common reeds grow up to four meters tall.
