Tawny owl pair Klaara and Klaus’ chick  is about to leave the nest. There will be no coming back to the nest hollow after that. The new world is intriguing, it has only been glimpsed before from the nest opening. The young tawny owl still largely lacks proper feathering and is not quite able to fly. Last year the tawny owlets left the nest nearly one month earlier. The begging for food can be heard outside the nest as dusk falls, and the young stay near the nest for a quite long time.
