The favourite of many and every connoisseur has his or her own place for picking them, kept as a little secret. Chamaemorus means "with fragrant berries" and a fully ripe cloudberry is precisely that. The amount of vitamins is comparable to that in blackcurrants, and add to that all that can be prepared from cloudberries ...
Cloudberries are capricious – they don’t like night frosts or windy or cool weather or rain during their flowering time.
At temperatures above 15oC the plants also tend to do poorly. But then, who says that good things must be there in profusion?
