After 4 pm on Monday male Sulev came to feed the eaglet

The nest of the white-tailed eagles crumbles visibly. Luckily the pine tree has strong side branches where the birds can sit but the eaglet does have to train gymnastics.

The young bird will fledge  in a couple of weeks and the parents will not abandon their child. Last year the camera nest collapsed but the eaglets stayed hanging about in the branches around and they all were fed by the adults until they were able to fly.  I could describe several similar occasions that I have seen myself. It is as with human children, childhoods may develop differently ….

The joy of the parents in our nest has been well fed up to now and gained weight properly. The tie between the adults and the nestling becomes weaker and the parents can be seen spending hours on the north-western coast but there is no immediate need to worry about the eaglet in the crumbling nest. Although of course anything may happen.
