A roe deer turned up in the new badger camera location.

From the point of badger monitoring the weather has not favoured tracking the creatures for some time. Badgers and other fur-bearers don’t like strong winds and frequent showers. The adults have rarely showed up in the trail cameras in bad weather, and the tracks of possible cubs around the burrows disappear in a few moments in dense rainfall. In the last couple of days the activities of the badgers have been more visible in the web camera in Saaremaa, when there has been better weather, and even the wind has been less gusty in the evening hours. Two badgers dug out soil from the burrows, shook out clouds of sand from their coats and demonstrated their very characteristic belly-scratching. Roe deer walked across the sett a couple of times. In the new badger sett there are probably no cubs. But you can still see badger cubs if you look at the video clips recorded by Hellat Rumvolt a couple of weeks ago in Läänemaa.
