The rains that started at the end of last summer led to a crop failure in the forage fields intended for the roe deer, and the deer looked for higher and drier places to stay in.

Roedeer             Metskits or  kaber         Capreolus capreolus

A long peaceful record of the doings of the roe deer flock near the salt lick and in the forage field that sadly was almost destroyed by the very wet weather last year. As the ground freezes we again see animals moving. The snow cover hid the tracks and smells of people who had  been there earlier and the web  camera allows us to see the activities of the animals without disturbing them.

New camera. In the centre of the image there is a salt lick, which is why the animals visit the place at all. As autumn proceeds we expect ever more deer in camera view since in the later half of autumn the winter flocks start to gather. The site on the border between field and forest verge is a favourite place for roe deer.
