The Käsmu seashore camera that was damaged by lightning in August is working again. We decided to forward the web camera view on the Looduskalender page until we get the grey seal monitoring camera working again.

Aarne Vaik from the Käsmu Maritime  Museum comments: "Responding to grumbles about the sea being there to be seen from any window in the museum 24 hours a day, we decided to set it up on our home page so that the envied  "million dollar view“ can be the view of a million Estonians. I can recommend the look towards north in the evening and summer nights as Estonia’s most beautiful sky view. So we arranged the camera looking north. Even northern lights may be seen there. Watch carefully!"

Setting up a video stream is not quite simple. Many thanks to EENet for their generous assistance and for multiplying the stream. People from Beta Group,  ITrotid, Igorexa and others built the set up and installed the Mobotix cameras.

The Looduskalender team www.looduskalender.ee provided the knowledge for how to do it.
