Klaara leaves the nest trunk in morning dusk and early viewers can see the event. In the LK forum all moments from the night are nicely covered; Maggy, the ”owl auntie”, lives in a time zone more convenient for night-time watching, in California, USA.

The two older owl hicks spend their third day in the nest trunk, can mangle food from the female and who knows what more …

Why do we think that the third owlet was hatched yesterday (Wednesday)? Because in the second half of the day we could no longer hear the familiar clatter of eggs against one another, so we could guess at a hatching…

Klaara laid the eggs in the nest trunk on March 15, 18, 21 and 24. The „twin“ owlets were hatched on April 17 and the younger sibling on March 19.

During the night Klaara has managed to get the egg shells out of the way. We wrote about this a few days ago: LINK
