The warm weather made the green frogs sing.
Last weekend when the Bloodless Hunt was held in Põlvamaa I happened to come across a pond that was ringing with frog calls. The warmest morning of this spring until now had made the pool frogs talkative and active.
For the small frog, about 7cm long and with short legs, a sufficiently heated-up water body is necessary for reproduction, and so their mating period begins later than that of brown frogs and lasts piecemeal, depending on the spawning, into half summer

The habitats of the pool frog are mainly in southern and eastern Estonia; in North Estonia it is rare and it is completely absent in the islands. In Noarootsi in Läänemaa this nice amphibian is found in a small area only. Probably a frog friend brought it there at some time.

For a small creature the little frog really has a powerful voice. For this it has whitish-coloured vocal sacs that nicely serve their purpose as the video cut shows
