Black Stork         Ciconia nigra

The nest of the female bird Kaia and the male bird Karl, located in Karula National Park, is arguably one of the best nesting sites for black storks in Estonia.

Last year, the male bird arrived at the nest on April 8th, and the female bird Kaia arrived four days later on April 12th.

This year, the male bird Karl arrived at the nest on April 12th.

As of the day before yesterday, Kaia was still about 800 km away from Karula.
