The nest site of a fox often looks like this: stone walls, heaps of tree stumps, often a badger sett; dug out by the fox itself it generally remains a simpler cave.

Foxes shed their fur only once a year, in spring; for winter the undercoat hairs grow and the fur becomes denser. The body length of the female is slightly more than 60 centimetres, the tail adds about half a body length. This female seems to weigh more than 6 kilos.

Feeding such a family may be a quite complicated task for the adults. Females have 6 teats and the cubs are weaned off from milk at about six weeks of age. The cubs in the video are about 5 weeks old.

The parents bring prey for the cubs to the den and usually a human nose too can detect it - at times the smell is quite horrible.
