The fish camera is now located in the
At the moment the camera is installed in the deepest flow bed, with a very rapid flow, in the centre of the river where even larger fish might move. It seems however that in summer larger fish seldom get here; until now the largest to have been observed have been breams (Vimba vimba). Seeing to seasons there is no reason at present for salmon, river trout and river lampreys (Lampetra fluviatilis) to come here. We will see their spawning migrations in the autumn in the same river cut.
We will monitor the view in the rapid flow bed for a week. Until now bleaks (Alburnus alburnus), minnows (Phoxinus phoxinus phoxinus), roaches (Rutilus rutilus), perches (Perca fluviatilis) and sticklebacks (Gasterosteus) in mating colours have been observed but you never know when there will be a surprise. When there are strong winds from the north and the sea water reaches the river the conditions for an unexpected creature to appear in camera view are there. If nothing comes the camera will go into a quieter corner where there are salmon and river trout fry, stone loaches (Barbatula barbatula), rudds (Scardinius erythrophthalmus), roaches and other fish species. Otters and mink live here as well as the mute swan with three grey juveniles.
