Two chicks were hatched for the Bird of the Year, the nightjar, monitored  by the web camera 

From early July all interested watchers could observe the nest life of the Bird of the year, the nightjar. Now the two chicks that were hatched in mid-June have started their independent lives and the nest camera ends its work.

A rare event was seen in the nature webcam in Ura. A broken tree on the river bank fell into the water and hit a beaver that had been feasting in the water.

Beavers are herbivores; in summer aquatic plants as well as meadowsweets, sedges and also nettles on the bank are on their menu

At about three o’clock we saw the presumably oldest osprey chick take off

,,, at  once ”making tricks” too but fortunately everything has worked well so far

Mother Kati arrived at the nest; young storks waiting for food

Black stork        Must-toonekurg         Ciconia nigra

Both parents, mother Kati as well as father Karl, come to feed the young birds nicely. Yesterday one of the young storks made its first trip out from the nest. and it is evident that if the weather allows, days with flying exercises will become common.
