Wolf in snowfall.

If you see a wolf and he has not noticed you it is an extraordinary experience. Enjoy the moment and save it in a photo if possible. Meeting a wolf is very rare and only very few persons have had the experience because the number of wolves is small and the wolf is an extremely cautious animal.

The sleeping den

Brown bear         Karu or pruunkaru       Ursus arctos

The first one to wake up in late winter moving around in the Sirtsi bog area.  

An urgent need seems to have roused the sleeper, a yellow trail went from  the den to seven meters away which can be seen in the beginning of the video.

Squirrel

Red squirrel      Harilik orav     Sciurus vulgaris

We have already noticed the increased mobility or mating period of the so-called urban or city squirrels in parks, cemeteries and garden cities despite the cold winter weather. In cities there is a couple more degrees of warmth in the air than in the forest. To that comes the light pollution and somewhat different feeding habits in the urban conditions. The mating games of our forest inhabitants should also have started.
